Obituary for Denzil (Denny) M. Fluharty

Denzil M. (Denny) Fluharty of Quiet Dell departed his earthly life on Sunday, September 16, 2018, after an extended illness.

Denny was born on October 29, 1937, the only son of Howard (Ben) and Madaline Fluharty of Elkins, WV. On May 30, 1959, he married M. Jean Fluharty who survives him.

Denny worked for many years as a cable splicer for Verizon and retired on October 2, 1998. He was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort.

Denny is also survived by his two daughters: Debra Stire (husband Troy), Kelley Richman (husband David) and 13 grandchildren; Anthony Veltri, Ethan Stire, step-grandchildren Zach Stire and Dean Stire, Eric Richman, Elisha Smith (husband Jamie), Rachel Seybert (husband Justin), Andrew Richman (wife Jenna), Emily Richman, Jesse Richman, Olivia Richman, Jenna Richman and Elena Richman, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Landon and Tyler Smith and Evelyn, Caroline, and Atticus Seybert.

In addition, Denny is also survived by two sisters, Sandra and Joyce.

A memorial service in honor of Denny will be held at the First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort, 219 Maryland Avenue, Nutter Fort on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 4 p.m. with Reverend Don Fowler presiding.
