Upon his return, he and his wife settled down in Parkersburg, WV where they raised their two children. He worked as a chemical technician at General Electric, formerly Borg Warner. Following their retirement, Bob and Anna Mae moved to Bridgeport in 1999 to be closer to their daughter Kimberly and their grandchildren, and built a house across the street.

Bob was an avid sports fan and never gave up on his beloved Cleveland Browns. He and Anna Mae enjoyed traveling the world together before old age made the trips too much. His most treasured past time was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow over the years.
