Obituary for Ralph Lee McDonald

Ralph Lee McDonald, 81, of Brushy Fork, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born on November 14, 1936 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Howard McDonald and Delphia Gifford McDonald.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Corder McDonald, whom he married on May 20, 1961.
He is also survived by two sons, Kevin McDonald and his wife Amy of Georgetown, PA and Tracy McDonald of Cary, NC; four grandchildren, Maggie McDonald of Morgantown, Addie McDonald of Georgetown, PA., Walker McDonald and Connor McDonald, both of Cary, NC; two sisters, Ruth Cutlip of TN and Alma Carson of Winchester, VA and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Ann McDonald and Kecia McDonald; one daughter-in-law, Shelly McDonald; and two brothers, Howard McDonald and Hugh McDonald.
Ralph was a graduate of Bridgeport High School class of 1955 and then was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his time in the service he was employed at Simpson Truck Sales and then with Equitable gas for 51 years retiring in 1998. He served on the Harrison County Farm Bureau Board and he enjoyed farming beef cattle and working with his tractor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school superintendent as well as singing in the choir and many other church related capacities.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 am with Reverend Robert Cole and Reverend Sharon Dietz presiding. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Brushy Fork
