Obituary for Helen Elladean Copley (Wood)

Helen Elladean (Wood) Copley of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Bridgeport, WV, passed away, Thursday, November 23rd, 2017 after a long illness. She was born on August 8, 1935 in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Lawrence Alexander and Hazel Virginia Wood.
Helen is survived by her loving and wonderful husband of 61 years, Joseph Lee Copley.
She is also survived by her daughter, Virginia Lee (Cecil) Harris of Chesapeake, VA, her son, Lawrence Joseph (Jacqueline) Copley of Elkview, WV, four grandchildren Kelly Jo (Nicholas) Broyles, Joseph Craig (Jennifer) Copley, Katelyn Lee (Mark) Simmons, Craig Irvin (Sarah) Harris and 2 great-granddaughters, Addyson Jo Broyles and Emma Paige Copley. She is also survived by her sister Ella Mae (Wood) Furr of St. Albans, WV.
Helen was preceded in death by her sister Deloris Virginia Wood Malcomb.
She retired from Pantry Stores/Matthew Brothers as a computer operator.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a contribution to The American Cancer Society or your local Hospice.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 11 am – 12 noon, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Reverend John Rohrer presiding. Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown.
