Obituary for
Wilber Joseph McQueen
Wilber Joseph McQueen, 87, of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday morning, September 24, 2017, in Grafton. He was born in Richwood, WV, on June 4, 1930, a son of the late Joseph Nelson McQueen and Sara Rachel Hanna McQueen.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Frances Kaye Lamb McQueen, who passed away on December 12, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna Helm Kisner McQueen, whom he married on February 14, 2011.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three children, Rebecca “Becky” Crutchfield and her husband Steve of Maple Lake; William “Bill” McQueen and his wife Charlene of Fairmont and Don McQueen and his wife Connie of Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Bethany Crutchfield Cutright and her husband Jason of Clarksburg, Nathan Crutchfield and his wife Brittany of Clarksburg, Casey Wilson and her husband Dave of Denver, NC, Whitney McQueen of Denver, NC, Brad McQueen and his wife Lee of Bridgeport, Brian McQueen of Wilson, NC, Darren McQueen and Sara McQueen, both of Bridgeport; and six great-grandchildren, Breanna Cutright, Wesley Cutright, Peighton McQueen, Cora Wilson, Grayson McQueen and Avery McQueen.
Mr. McQueen was a graduate of Weston High School, Class of 1948, where he played the tuba in the marching band. He served our country during the Korean War in the US Air Force. He was a member of Middleville Baptist Church. He had served as a member of the Bridgeport Benedum Festival Committee and a member of the Citizens Auxiliary Patrol Service (VIPS) of the Bridgeport Police Department. He also served as a member of the Bridgeport Emergency Services Council. He loved his old cars and was a member of the Central WV Antique Automotive Club. He was a truck driver for PIE and Nationwide for over 30 years.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the WV National Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Boyles presiding. Military Funeral Honors will be accorded.
