Janith Lee Fulks Hinzman, 85, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday morning, March 19, 2017, at her residence in Florida surrounded by her family. She was born January 1, 1932 in Weston, a daughter of the late Oral Carl Fulks and Mabel Marie Buck Fulks.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Norval “Nick” Jay Hinzman whom passed away on April 2, 2010.

She is survived by one son Michael Scott Hinzman and his wife Cheryl Hinzman of Salem; one daughter Lori Ann Hinzman and her spouse Carisa Erion of Plant City, FL; one grandson Nicholas Michael Hinzman of Warren, Ohio; one granddaughter Kristina Lynn Shaver and her husband Randy of Jane Lew; two great-grandchildren, Jared and Ian Shaver; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother, Betty Joann Fulks Johnson and Carl Preston “Buck” Fulks.

Janith was a graduate of Weston High School in 1949. She then received her diploma from Bowling Green Business University where she was a member of the Kappa Beta Pi Sorority. Afterward, she worked at Hope Gas in Clarksburg as an Administrative Secretary. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Norval (Nick) Hinzman. They were married in Winchester, Virginia at the Braddock St. Methodist Church. While living in the Alexandra/Springfield, Virginia area and prior to the birth of their first child, Janith worked at an engineering firm where she had top security clearance.

She was a devoted daughter caring for her aging mother, a supporting mother caring for and guiding her children/grandchildren and a loving wife who adored her husband. And although she would rarely admit it, she really loved her grand dogs as well.

She held a couple of part time positions throughout those years at the Hallmark store and a Country Crafts store, but her real passion was playing Bridge. Janith, belonging to several Bridge clubs, would play 2-3 times most weeks. She was a social person who loved spending time with her friends and family and enjoyed researching genealogy with her sister Betty. Janith was also an avid Mountaineer fan, basketball 1st, football 2nd. She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church.
