Obituary for Bernice L Robinson

Bernice L. Hurst Robinson, 94, of Wolf Summit, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the home of her son, David. She was born in Wolf Summit on February 1, 1922, a daughter of the late William M. Hurst and Gladys L. Pitts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Francis “Duck” Robinson who passed away on May 11, 2008.
Also surviving are 2 sons, William F. Robinson and his wife Teresa, Salem; David M. Robinson and his wife Linda, West Milford; 3 daughters, Patricia Dowling and her husband Tony, Greenville, SC; Donna Moore and her husband Steve, Travelers Rest, SC; and Karen Trevino and her husband David, Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Clarksburg; Erin Moore, Greenville, SC; Robbie Dowling, FL; Bryson Dowling, Greenville, SC; Jerry Breen, Dallas, TX; Bonnie Davis, NC; Debbie Dover, GA; and 6 great-grandchildren, Austin James Todd; Caroline Dover, Landon Dowling, Hilliary and Jordan Davis, and Harley Diamond; one brother Barry Hurst of Salem; sisters, Bernita Earp and Sue Marks.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her brother, William Hurst and two sisters Berle Dunn and Betty Golden and also one infant sister.
She was a graduate of Bristol High School and was employed at JC Penney for several years. She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. She was a member of the Coplin United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed gospel music.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10: 00 am Monday, January 9, 2017, with Rev. Carl Radcliff presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown.
