Obituary for Betty Taylor Wagner

Betty Taylor Wagner, 79, of Douglas Dairy Road, Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2016, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Clarksburg on September 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Harvey Lee Taylor, Sr. and Mary Virginia Carter Taylor.
On September 23, 1955, she married Kenneth G. Wagner, who preceded her in death on October 4, 2003.
She is survived by four children, Mary Ann Zieglar and her husband Anthony, Dilliner, PA; Donna Goldsmith and her husband David, Bridgeport; Sheri Green and her husband Steve, Summerville, SC; and Kenneth “Dusty” G. Wagner, Jr. and his wife Janice, five grandchildren, Jennifer Underwood and her companion Jerome Thomas, Bridgeport; Adam Wagner, Bridgeport; Katy Wagner, Wheeling; Ashley Zieglar, Dilliner, PA; and Luke Goldsmith, Bridgeport.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers, Richard E. Taylor and Harvey “Bud” Taylor; and a sister, Patricia Posey.
Betty was a graduate of W-I High School, Class of 1955. She had worked as a seamstress at Maidenform, had worked at the Bridgeport Civic Center as a housekeeper, and had done alterations with Stone & Thomas and Elder Beerman, from where she retired.
She loved to sew and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was Methodist.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016, with Reverend Brian Seders presiding. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
