Obituary for Margaret Morris Jenkins

Margaret Morris Jenkins, 89, of Wolf Summit, passed away Sunday evening, July 24, 2016, in Fairmont. She was born in Rosemont on August 21, 1926, a daughter of the late John Morris and Mary Kapas Morris.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul Edward Jenkins who passed away on July 28, 2008.

Also surviving are three daughters, Robin Ballard, Kansas City, Missouri; Debby LeTourneau of Minnetonka, MN, and Tammy Peterson and her husband Greg, of Corcoran, MN; 4 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, one sister, Irene Morris and a very special niece Shirley Cimino.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers, Mike, Johnny, Jimmy, Steve and Frankie; and four sisters, Mary, Lizzy, Helen and Ada.

Margaret was employed as a glass inspector for over 31 years working for Brockway Glass, Continental Can and Hazel Atlas until her retirement. Early in her life she hitch hiked from West Virginia to New York to work in a canning company to support the war effort during WWII. She loved to travel having gone to Budapest Hungary as well as studying history. She had a good heart and was an excellent cook and loved being around her family.

Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 4 – 7 pm, where services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2008, at 11 am with Reverend James Riggs presiding. Interment will follow in the Flemington IOOF Cemetery, Rosemont.
