Obituary for Wanda Lee Nicholson

Wanda Lee Nicholson, 85, of Bridgeport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, July 11, 2016, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Center Branch on April 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Lawrence Drennen and Mary Genevieve Williams Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Wayne “Blackie” Nicholson, on February 15, 1991.
She is survived by four children, Danny Nicholson and his wife Janet of Keego Harbor, MI, Debra Newman and her husband Skip of Davisburg, MI, Timmy Nicholson and his wife Linda of Las Vegas, NV and Linda Curry and her husband Bill of Lumberport; a son-in-law Jackie Fisher of West Palm Beach, FL; nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Kay Reed of Stonewood and Deloris Henning and her husband Chuck of Doddridge County, and one brother John Jones of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Karen Lee Fisher, Gary Nicholson and his wife Patricia; and Michael Nicholson; two brothers, Robert Jones and Daniel Jones; one sister Margaret Meek.
Wanda had lived in Michigan for over 35 years while “Blackie” worked for General Motors. She enjoyed skating, going to the movies, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. While living at Bridgeport Manor, she enjoyed attending the services there held by Grace Baptist Church. She is in the arms of Jesus, but will be dearly loved and missed by her family and friends.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday from 2-8 pm, where services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2016, with Pastor Tim Bolyard. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
