Obituary for Helen Lee Lamm (Criss)

Helen Lee Criss Lamm, 93, of Clarksburg and formerly of Reynoldsville, died Sunday evening, June 19, 2016, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Clarksburg on May 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Wayne and Gladys (Westfall) Criss.
On September 28, 1941, she married E. Carl Lamm, who passed away on March 17, 1988.
She is survived by four children, Judith Ann Wilson and Nancy Corathers McNally, both of Clarksburg; Kathryn Jane Dodd of Reynoldsville; and Phyllis Elaine Pearson and her husband Jack, Rockingham, NC; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Roth Lamm, Cary, NC; nine grandchildren, Craig Wilson and his wife Lisa, Shannon Wilson, Tiffany Wilson Batcheller and her husband Brian, Colin Dodd and his wife Rachel, Matthew Dodd and his wife Wendi, Shane Corathers; Erin Corathers Lough and her husband Eric, Garrett Lamm and his wife Katie; and Bryan Lamm; and several great-grandchildren, Caitlin Wilson; Timothy Wilson, Grayson Batcheller; Lucas Batcheller; Tanner Dodd; Hayden Dodd; Owen Dodd; Jurney Kronenwetter, Waylon Dodd, Taylor Lough, Kolby Lough, Logan Wilson, Lily Lamm and Ashland Lamm; her sister, Barbara Propst and her husband Lee, Grand Blanc, MI; her extended family, John Corathers and Dr. Ken Wilson, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Philip Wayne Lamm; an infant grandson, Timothy Paul Wilson; two sons-in-law, Donald McNally and Glenn Dodd; a brother, William Wayne Criss; and three sisters, Eva Ruth Criss, Peggy Cumberledge; and Mary Yackanech.
Helen graduated from Bristol High School, Class of 1941. She was a member of Reynoldsville Christian Church for over 60 years; member of Reynoldsville Baptist Women’s ministries and a member of Ivy 112 Rebekah Lodge. She also bowled on Sigma 7 Wednesday League for many years and regularly attended Bridgeport/Clarksburg After 5 Christian Women. She was the WV State W.C.T.U Home Protection Director as well as secretary/treasurer for the local Woman’s Christian Temperance Union. She was also a member of UHC Auxiliary as a Volunteer.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Peoples Hospice and the nursing staff on Sixth Floor South, UHC, for their loving care and concern.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 1- 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016, with Pastor Bryan Lamm presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
