Obituary for Jerry Wade Knight

Jerry Wade Knight, 73, of Wallace passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 25, 1942 in Webster Springs, WV, a son of the late Harley Sly Knight and Ida Pauline Stout Knight.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Frye Knight whom he married in 1983.
He is also survived by his five children, Claudia Shields and her husband Jason of Wallace, Emily Kirkpatrick of Clarksburg, Quentin Knight of Wallace, Jared Knight of Pittsburgh, PA and Evan Knight of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Jada, Grayson and Abigail Shields; eleven brothers and sisters, Sampson, Darel, Dolan, Gary, Ernie and Earl Knight, Sharon Smith, Bertha Miller, Glenna Flanigan, Linda Walter and Isa Fury; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Mayness Knight.
Jerry retired from Chenoweth Ford in 1996. He was currently working for Ronald Lane Inc. He enjoyed taking family vacations to the beach, where he enjoyed looking for sharks teeth, gardening, sports and camping. He enjoyed telling stories and spending time with his family who was so important to him. He was a man who would not say no to anyone and always willing to help out a friend.
The family requests that no flowers be sent.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2-8 pm and again on Thursday from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Tim Sandy presiding. Interment will follow in the Knight Family Cemetery, Sardis.
