Obituary for Helen Ruth Napier (Brooks)

Helen Ruth Napier (Mem), 95, of Bridgeport, formerly of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2015. She was born September 1, 1919 in Fort Springs, WV a daughter of the late Marshall Kessler Brooks and Ida Lawhorn Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Virgil Napier (Poppie).
She is survived by her daughter Linda Kay Napier Milum of Georgetown, KY; three granddaughters, Bilinda Milum Broughton and her husband Brandon of Georgetown, KY, Cheryl Goodman Huffman, whom she raised, and her husband Wayne of Bridgeport, Shannon Milum and Erin Peterson of St.Joseph, MO; three great grandsons who she adored, Abbott Broughton, Brandon Hatton and Sean Huffman.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Mae Jones, Charlotte Boye and Kathryn Dawson; and one brother, Frank Brooks.
Mrs. Napier leaves behind many family members and friends whom she dearly loved. The Napiers were the owners of D.E. Abbott and Company custom picture framing for many years in Huntington. Mrs. Napier relocated to Central City and continued her business on her own following the death of her husband. She was strong yet gentle and loved by all who knew her. Most importantly, she knew her Heavenly Father and will live eternally! Until we meet again…

Family and friends will be received at the First Baptist Church of Kenova, 1120 Poplar Street, Kenova on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:30-2:30 pm, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm with Pastor Steve Willis presiding. Interment will be in Spring Valley Memorial Gardens.
