Obituary for Denver "Dick" Victor

Denver “Dick” Victor, 77, of Rosemont, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Rosemont on April 5, 1937, a son of the late Pete and Elizabeth (Robinson) Victor.
On June 27, 1955, he married Ruth Jane Moore, who preceded him in death on August 17, 2004.
He is survived by his son, John David Victor, Clarksburg; his daughter Deborah Strahan, Oregon; four grandchildren, Jonah Matthew Strahan, Amanda Brooke Strahan, Darian Alexander Strahan, and Ryan Christian Strahan; two brothers, William J. Victor and his wife Rosalee, Shinnston; and Charles R. Wolford, Rosemont; his special caregiver, Elizabeth McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Dick was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving from March 1955 – March 1959. He was a member of Baileytown Memorial United Methodist Church. He retired from the Taylor County Board of Education as a bus driver in 1999 after 26 years of service. He enjoyed working with his son doing plaster crown molding.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015, with Pastor Lois Sandy presiding. He will be laid to rest with his wife Ruth at WV National Cemetery.
